How does ASB confirm my address online?
If you are a new customer to ASB, we’ll need to confirm your address. Our goal is to make this as easy as possible, whether this is done online or in branch.
If you apply for a bank account online, ASB will attempt to confirm your address online by securely sharing your name, date of birth and address with our identification and verification service provider, Green ID. Green ID will electronically match your information with identification information from third party databases, such as:
Dun & Bradstreet, by using their credit file header database; and
Land Information New Zealand, by using their property ownership registry database.
This confirmation will occur securely in New Zealand and Australia and is not a credit check.
In the event we cannot verify your address online, you will need to visit a branch with a posted document as proof of address.
For more information on how we collect, hold and use your information, please see the section on confidentiality of your information in our Personal Banking Terms and Conditions.
