What insurance discounts are available?
Multi-policy and claim-free discounts are no longer available on new ASB general insurance policies. If another discount applies to your policy, it will be shown in your policy documents.
Why have multi-policy discounts been removed?
IAG is removing multi-policy discounts from ASB general insurance policies. Instead of applying a standard discount, IAG calculates your premium based on your circumstances and the cover you choose.
This means your premium is based on your policy details, rather than the number of eligible policies you have with us.
Could my premium change at renewal time?
Yes. Your premium could go up, down, or stay about the same. If your premium has gone down, it doesn’t mean you were overcharged before. The price of your premium is assessed every year, and the prices you’ve paid in the past would have been based on those assessments.
Premiums are reviewed regularly and can change for more than one reason, including:
Things that relate to you:
- What you’re insuring and the cover you choose
- Your insured amount, excess, optional benefits
- Where you live or who drives your vehicle
Things that relate to everyone:
- Government taxes and levies
- Costs of parts or repairs
- Major events or disasters and reinsurance costs
Your renewal documents will show your updated premium.
You should regularly check your policy schedule to make sure your details and cover are still right for you.
