Zero Interest Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Transfers can be made from most non-ASB New Zealand credit cards issued by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, GEM by Latitude and Purple Visa Card.

A balance can be transferred to an ASB Visa Light, ASB Visa Rewards, ASB Visa Platinum Rewards or ASB Visa Business Rewards credit card.

Transfer up to 90% of your available credit card limit, up to $20,000 per transfer. Make up to two balance transfers per calendar year. Minimum balance transfer amount applies.

After your balance transfer period ends, any outstanding balance will incur interest at the standard purchase interest rate for your credit card type.

Once the balance transfer process is complete, contact your existing card provider directly to close your old credit card account.

ASB applies your payment to the transactions that might attract a higher interest rate before those on a lower interest rate - this helps reduce the interest you pay. Purchases and cash advances (other than Smart Rate purchases for ASB Visa Light) are paid before balance transfers and Smart Rate purchases. If you have multiple balance transfers and/or Smart Rate purchases, we pay off the ones with the highest interest rate first. If they have the same interest rate, balance transfers are paid before Smart Rate purchases. To avoid overdue payment fees, make sure to pay at least a minimum repayment by the due date.
