How Save the Change works
Save the Change helps you save as you spend. It rounds up selected transactions and electronic payments from your ASB Everyday account and automatically deposits the difference into your chosen ASB savings account.
You can set up and manage Save the Change in the ASB Mobile app or FastNet Classic:
- Choose the Everyday account you'd like the change to come from and the savings account you'd like it deposited into. You can also give your change to another person if they have an ASB savings account.
- Pick your rounding amount to the nearest $1, $2, $5 or $10.
- Link Save the Change to EFTPOS and ASB Visa Debit card transactions, as well electronic payments including direct debits and automatic payments. Save the Change is not available with credit card transactions.
- Turn Save the Change on or off at any time.

You see a new t-shirt for $32.50 that you'd like to buy.

You use your EFTPOS or ASB Visa Debit card, or make an electronic transaction from your nominated account to buy it.

Your Save the Change rounding amount is set to $2.

ASB transfers $1.50 into your specified ASB savings account. Helping you save more money in the long run.

Donate the Change
With Donate the Change, you also have the option to support an ASB charity partner of your choice - Youthline, Hato Hone St John or KidsCan. You can both save and donate money at the same time!
Just log in to the ASB Mobile app and follow these simple steps:
- Select the transaction account you would like to Save the Change from.
- On your 'Account summary', select 'Save the Change Setup' under 'More options'.
- Follow the prompts to Donate the Change.

It's easy, get started today
Check
You'll need an eligible ASB transaction account to use Save the Change. If you don't have one, open an account now in FastNet Classic or through the ASB Mobile app.
Sign up
ASB Mobile app - log in and select the transaction account you would like to Save the Change from. Select 'More options' and 'Save the Change setup'.
FastNet Classic - log in and click on 'Menu', 'Financial Wellbeing' and then 'Save the Change'. Click on 'Set up Save the Change'.
Set up
Choose your transaction account, payment type, rounding amount and savings account(s), accept the terms and conditions then hit 'Continue'.
Save
Then whenever you use your EFTPOS, ASB Visa Debit card or make an electronic payment, the change from your transaction will be deposited into your savings account.
