What do I do when I need address verification but I haven't moved to New Zealand or got a permanent New Zealand address yet?
Last Updated: 22 Jun 2016
If you haven’t got a New Zealand address yet, we will need proof of your overseas residential address before we can open your account – these could be a bank statement, utility bills dated within the last three months that have your name and residential address (not a P.O.Box or online statement).
Please note, originals of these documents will be required when you are here to activate your account and we may also require NZ address verification. We will need this to get the account opening process started. Once you’re here, we can help you to verify your New Zealand address when you visit an ASB branch.
