What identification do I need to open an ASB account from overseas?
Last Updated: 22 Jun 2016
You’ll need to provide a photocopy of your passport – photo and details, plus your visa type (if applicable). We’ll also need proof of your New Zealand residential address. If you haven’t got a New Zealand address yet, we will need proof of your overseas residential address before we can open your account – these could be a bank statement, utility bills dated within the last three months that have your name and residential address (not a P.O.Box or online statement).
Please note, originals of these documents will be required when you are here to activate your account and we may also require NZ address verification.
