What proof of ID do I need to open a new account?

If you are a new customer to ASB, you’ll need to provide proof of your identity and residential address. This is a legal requirement to protect you and ASB. 

The information you supply should be current and original. We can also accept copies certified by a trusted referee. 

Documentation in a foreign language must be accompanied by an independent and certified English translation provided to you by a professional translator.

If your identification documents are issued by a country other than New Zealand, Australia, The United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany and the United States of America, we may need to ask you for additional information about your income or assets.
