Can I get summaries of my interest and tax certificates digitally?

Last Updated: 02 Apr 2026

From the year ending 31 March 2026, ASB will be phasing out the Annual Resident Withholding Tax (RWT) Certificates for customers where we have an IRD number on our records. Details of ASB interest income and RWT deducted is available for these customers through their myIR account with Inland Revenue. If you don’t already have a myIR account, you can register for one via the Inland Revenue website through the following link: https://www.ird.govt.nz/topics/myir-secureonline-services/register-for-a-personal-myir-account

No IRD number provided to ASB:

If we don’t have your IRD number, your RWT is deducted at 45%, and we will continue to send you an Annual RWT Certificate. If you have earnt more than NZ$20 worth of interest at the end of the tax year (i.e. 31 March) and you have been digitally active by using FastNet Classic internet banking and/or the ASB Mobile banking app in the 180 days before 1 April, you will receive a notification to download a copy of your Annual RWT Certificate digitally. No paper copies will be sent in the mail to digitally active customers.

How to access these notifications via FastNet Classic:

  1. In the top right of the screen in the header, you’ll see a number on the bell icon, click on this to open up your notifications, or;
  2. Open the menu in the top left of the page and select ‘Notifications’.

How to access these notifications via ASB Mobile Banking app:

  1. In the top right of the screen in the header, you’ll see a number on the bell icon, click on this to open up your notifications.

To view or download your older Annual RWT Certificates in FastNet Classic internet banking:

  1. Log in to FastNet Classic
  2. Open Menu in the top left of the screen.
  3. Select Documents.

From here you can view, download and share your documents.

Please note, that these changes do not impact the issuing of annual PIE tax certificates, that is, we will continue to issue all PIE tax certificates for KiwiSaver, Investment Funds and Cash and Term Funds.
