Dan was born and bred on a sheep, beef and cropping farm in Studholme, Waimate. After graduating with a Diploma in Farm Management from Lincoln University in 2002 Dan went on to manage a large cropping and lamb fattening operation near Temuka for 9 years.
During this period Dan went to Cornwall, UK and played cricket for 3 seasons. He also played 24 seasons of senior club cricket in South Canterbury and represented South Canterbury for 15 years.
After finishing on the cropping farm in 2012 Dan then went to Ravensdown based out of Timaru where he worked as a Senior Agri manager and agronomist working in the Waimate and Waitaki Valley regions.
Dan and his wife Larissa live a busy life with their two boys, Archie and Sam pursuing many sports and outdoor activities. Dan is coaching both his boys cricket teams in Pleasant Point. Dan and his family are often found at the weekends down in Kakanui at their batch where they enjoy all things involving the sea.
Dan loves the agricultural industry and has spent his entire working life in it. He is passionate about seeing farmers achieve their goals and getting enjoyment out of their farm business.
