Anthony Ririnui

Head of Māori Financial Solutions

During Anthony’s 20 years in banking, he has seen Māori business grow and witnessed the strength it has added to our economy in Aotearoa. Here at ASB, our Māori banking services team are uniquely driven to be responsive to Māori business, enabling us to manaaki those it was created to support – you, your whanau, hapu and iwi.

We know that integrity is at the forefront of any business venture, that’s why we work hard to deliver unbeatable banking services to the Maori business sector.

As the Kaiwhakahaere-a-motu, Anthony’s passion to this kaupapa is strengthened by his board appointments and whanau, hapu and iwi contributions. He believes that the future of Māori business growth and success will be secured by the actions of those that are the current Kaitiaki – you and I.

Zane George

Executive Manager, Māori Banking Services

Zane George is a Relationship Executive within the Māori banking services team based in the Nelson Office, assisting iwi, hapu and Māori organisations across Aotearoa to find debt solutions to meet their organisational needs and objectives.

He has more than 18 years banking experience mainly within the property finance, commercial and corporate sectors, much of which was gained from his 10 years international experience where he was a Director for a major European Bank arranging and structuring deals over £200 million.

More recently, Zane was the ASB South Island Credit Manager for three and a half years being responsible for assessing and signing off on all commercial applications over $1 million.  He believes he can relate to many post settlement iwi directors/trustees who also take on a governance role and at times are required to make hard and difficult decisions for the good of their iwi, hapu and whanau.

Zane sees himself as being in a privileged position as a New Zealand Māori, (Ngapuhi), to use his experiences and expertise to partner with Māori rganisations to see them succeed both within Aotearoa and abroad.

Zane and his wife Hayley have three young children - Moby, Mabel and Emerson.  Weekends are always busy but enjoyable, centred around kids sport, church life and catching up with extended family and friends in the beautiful city of Nelson.

Kirikaiahi Mahutariki

Executive Manager, Māori Banking Services

Kirikaiahi Mahutariki is an Executive Manager in the Māori Financial Solutions team at ASB Bank.  She has a legal and professional services background having advised various global and multi-national organisations across a range of industries, SMEs, and high net-worth individuals.

For just over 12 years she worked closely with various iwi and hapū groups, and Māori businesses across the motu on a range of commercial, structuring, Māori land and Treaty of Waitangi matters.  Her overall drive is to contribute to the development of Māori to be prosperous and successful, as Māori.  She is currently doing that through her role at ASB by supporting and enabling Māori business development and growth at all levels and across all sectors.

In addition to her Te Arawa and Mataatua heritage, Kirikaiahi's Tongareva (Cook Islands Māori) and Tahitian affiliations provide her with extra momentum to drive indigenous business success.  "Māori have a vital contribution to make in this world, and our success will breed success across Aotearoa and wherever we chose to walk in this ever-changing globe.  Ko te pae tawhiti, whāia kia tata; ko te pae tata, whakamaua kia tīna!"
