ASB supporting ASB Polyfest for 33 years

ASB is proud to celebrate 33 years of support for the ASB Polyfest this year.

The festival continues to grow in popularity and involvement, bringing the many cultures of Auckland together in a celebration of diversity and community.

The theme for ASB Polyfest 2017 is: “Nurturing leadership through culture”. And, this week, more than 9,000 students from 60 schools across the Auckland region will compete on one of the festival’s six stages at the Manukau Sports Bowl.

ASB customers will be given the opportunity to collect a special edition ASB Polyfest EFTPOS card to celebrate the festival. Customers can register for the special edition EFTPOS card at the ASB Caravan at the festival. Numbers are limited.

ASB head of community, sponsorship and events Mark Graham says ASB Polyfest is a landmark event on ASB’s cultural calendar.

“Each year, we are blown away by the talent, passion and pride displayed on each of the ASB Polyfest stages. It’s a privilege to be involved in the world’s largest Maori and Pacific Island festival, and to embrace all of the cultures represented,” Mr Graham says.

“Congratulations to all students involved in the festival this year.”

As a demonstration of our commitment to the festival, ASB’s own kapa haka group will perform on the Maori stage during the prize-giving ceremony on Saturday afternoon.

Guests are also invited to have some fun with the ASB digi poi, which lights up when it’s moved, and create a short video in a dark room in the ASB UPV, to share on social media.

ASB Polyfest runs from March 15 – March 18 at the Manukau Sports Bowl.
