ASB appoints new senior executive to lead its KiwiSaver and wealth business

ASB has appointed Adam Boyd

ASB has appointed Adam Boyd to the role of Executive General Manager, Wealth and Insurance, on the Bank’s executive leadership team.

Mr Boyd has been with ASB since 1995 where he was most recently General Manager Global Markets, Strategy and Product, leading the team responsible for helping ASB clients manage risk in foreign exchange, commodities, interest rates and securities markets, together with leading product and strategy for the corporate, commercial and rural divisions.

In his new role, Mr Boyd will assume leadership of ASB’s wealth and insurance division, comprising around 300 people across the country.

The division is responsible for the development and distribution of ASB’s investment and insurance products including the ASB KiwiSaver scheme, and includes ASB Securities and ASB's investment administration platform Aegis.

Mr Boyd replaces Nick Stanhope, who took up the role of Chief Executive of Sovereign in April.

ASB Chief Executive Barbara Chapman says Mr Boyd was a strong internal candidate for the role.

Mr Boyd says he is thrilled to join a division of the Bank with the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of New Zealanders.

“Adam has extensive experience in banking and global markets and is highly regarded within the Bank,” Ms Chapman says.

“ASB is delighted to have Adam on board to lead the wealth and insurance team.”
