Change Machine cards are being replaced.
Our self-service Change Machines are great for small businesses, and these change your notes into smaller denominations and/or rolled coins. These machines are available at most ASB Branches - you can find your nearest Change Machine here.
From 1 July 2026 Change Machines will only accept Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) cards. FastChange cards will no longer work after that date.
If you don't have an Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card, see information below on how to apply for one.
An Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card can be used for both ATM deposits, and Change Machines.
What is an Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card and how do I get one?
An Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card is a physical ASB card that lets someone manually deposit cash into a business or entity account (it doesn't let them see any information about your account (except the suffix), take money out or make any other transaction). It identifies who is depositing the cash to help keep your money safe and prevent fraud.
From 1 July 2026, this card will also allow you to use the Change Machine to change your notes into smaller denominations and/or rolled coins.
To get set up with an Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card, there are two simple forms we need you and your authorised depositor(s) to complete:
1. Key Individual form(s) – filled out by each of the people that need to be able to deposit the money into your account.
2. Authorised Depositor form – completed by both you and each depositor.
Send the completed forms to your Relationship Manager, or if you don't have one, you can book an appointment for each of your depositors to complete the process at your nearest ASB Branch.
What if I do not replace my FastChange card by 1 July 2026?
You will not be able to use the Change Machine from this date using your FastChange card. If you want to use a Change Machine after this date, you will need to apply for an ASB Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card if you don't hold one currently.
Why is ASB making these changes?
ASB FastChange cards are being phased out due to a compliance obligation ASB Bank is required to meet.
Why do I need a new card to operate the change machine?
An ASB Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card will provide access to both the ATM for deposits and the Change Machine for your cash exchanges.
Can I get one Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card for my business and share it with all staff to use in the Change Machine?
No, each individual authorised depositor is required to have their own Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card.
If my FastChange card is damaged or lost, can I get a replacement change card before 1 July 2026?
If your FastChange card is damaged or lost, we recommend applying for an Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card instead to replace it. FastChange cards will no longer work after 1 July 2026.
Is there a cost for the new Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card?
No, these cards are provided free of charge.
If I only use the Change Machine but don't make deposits, do I still require this card?
Yes, an Authorised Deposit (FastDeposit) card will be needed to perform cash exchanges with the Change Machine after 1 July 2026.
