ASB Good As Gold Santa Edition: Natasha Finau

This Christmas, we asked our ASB team to nominate customers who dedicate themselves to their community, have a passion for life against all odds as well as those in times of hardship that deserve something golden in their lives.

Tragedy can strike at any time. Long time ASB customer, Natasha Finau knows this more than anyone as a young widow, losing her husband suddenly to an undiagnosed heart condition.

Natasha had only been married one year before her husband passed away while running.

After having such a tough year she’s really turned things around, and now spends her time educating Pacific Island families on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and taking care of your heart. She’s creating huge awareness in the South Auckland community through charity boxing events, movie premiers, walkathons and exercise classes. It’s inspiring to see.

Natasha’s story is truly heartbreaking and we wanted to do something to help by offering her $6000 in travel vouchers as well as $2000 in spending money. She’s given so much to her community after experiencing such a huge loss and we felt like it was time she received some appreciation.
