A one-off sale is a simple and convenient way to sell your shares and bonds without having to open a share trading account. It's designed for people who own shares and bonds, but don't want to trade again in the future.
Using a one-off sale through ASB Securities is a great option if you simply want to sell New Zealand shares or bonds at the market price and aren’t looking to trade again in the future.
A one-off sale doesn’t offer the same flexibility as a share trading account. So if any of the following apply, you’ll need to open a share trading account:

We'll confirm with the share registry that you are the registered owner.
We'll sell the shares on the market on your behalf.
Once the trade has settled, we'll deposit the sale proceeds into your nominated ASB Bank account.
