Understanding all of the different types of pricing information on shares can be daunting at first but it doesn’t need to be. This guide will help you to better understand what pricing information we provide, where it is provided and what it means, helping you to take an informed view on the value of your investments.
To ensure you have the most current market pricing information when you are placing an order, live pricing and market depth will always be available in the 'place an order' process during market hours. Live pricing is available on request in some online tools in Online Share Trading during market hours for NZX and ASX listed securities. You will be able to access this on demand by using the refresh icon if you have traded in the last 90 days.
Delayed pricing is the default pricing option used in Online Share Trading and is standard on the ASB Securities homepage. The time delay of prices is 20 mins during market hours.
Outside of the market operating hours, pricing is shown as the closing price and will include any after hours trading that has occurred. After hours pricing will be from the most recent trading day.
