  • Merchant Services team won Canstar award for Most Satisfied Customers.
  • Won the Blue Prism Award for Best Use of Technology Partners in Automation, recognising our partnership with intelligent automation solutions to provide an innovative broker lending experience.
  • Awarded Gold at the New Zealand Direct Marketing Awards for Strategic Vision: Recognising strategic vision that positively contributed to the creation of the best possible environment for response-driven marketing to be successful.
  • Awarded Silver at the New Zealand Direct Marketing Awards for CRM & Data Management: Acknowledging exceptional solutions for managing customer and/or prospect data and information, including methods of collection, storage, cleansing, authentication and integration.
  • Awarded Silver at the New Zealand Direct Marketing Awards for Customer & Market Insight: Excellent use of data-mining, statistical analysis or research techniques to gain significant customer insights that drive business value.
  • Awarded Silver at the New Zealand Direct Marketing Awards for media and/or Channel Utilisation: Recognising marketing success that can be directly attributed to the method of communication delivery.
  • Won Best Innovation in Customer Experience at the NZ Banking innovation awards (by RFI Group).

2019

  • Awarded the Community and Advocacy Award at the Rainbow Excellence Awards, recognising ASB’s commitment to promoting an inclusive culture and supporting the Rainbow community.
  • ASB KiwiSaver Scheme awarded the Canstar Outstanding Value KiwiSaver Scheme Provider award for the second year running. This award demonstrates Outstanding Value across the Conservative, Balanced and Growth fund profiles.
  • ASB KiwiSaver Scheme awarded the highest Platinum Rating by SuperRatings for the third year in a row, in recognition of value for money for scheme members.
  • ASB Group Investments awarded KiwiSaver Manager of the year at the Zenith Fundsource awards.
  • The ASB ID app won a 2019 Canstar Innovation Excellence Award.

2018

  • Plus by ASB won a 2018 Canstar Innovation Excellence Award.
  • ASB KiwiSaver Scheme awarded the Canstar Outstanding Value KiwiSaver Scheme award – which demonstrates Outstanding Value across the Conservative, Balanced and Growth fund profiles.
  • ASB KiwiSaver Scheme awarded the highest Platinum Rating by SuperRatings for the second year running, in recognition of value for money for scheme members.

2017

  • ASB named The New Zealand Bank of the Year by The Banker Magazine, UK for the fifth year running.
  • ASB KiwiSaver Scheme was awarded the highest Platinum Rating by SuperRatings.com.au for the first time in recognition of value for money for scheme members.
  • ASB KiwiSaver was awarded Canstar five stars for Outstanding Value for all its funds for the first time. This was in the Balanced, Conservative, Growth and Cash Fund categories. This made ASB the most five star-awarded KiwiSaver provider since 2011.
  • ASB received Canstar's Bank of the Year - Savings Award; recognising the institution that provides the strongest combination of products and services for savers.
  • ASB was awarded Canstar's 2017 Bank of the Year - Junior Banking award (children 12 and under) for the second year in a row; recognising our success in school banking, innovative products like Clever Kash and the GetWise financial literacy programme for young people.
  • ASB Economics Team named Forecaster Accuracy Award Winners by Consensus Economics for the third time in four years (also winning this award in 2014 and 2015).
  • ASB Group Investments, manager of the ASB KiwiSaver Scheme, won the KiwiSaver category award at the New Zealand Morningstar Awards.
  • asb.co.nz received the Best Website or Online Service - Financial Services at the AMY Awards.
  • Awarded Canstar Innovation Excellence Award for Clever Kash.
  • ASB finished third in the AMR Corporate Reputation Index in New Zealand, our highest ever finish; recognising ASB as one of New Zealand's most trusted organisations.
  • ASB received the Most Attractive Employer in the Banking and Financial Services Sector Award.

2016

  • ASB Investment Funds won in the Diversified Sector and International Equity Sector at the FundSource Awards.
  • ASB won the Canstar Junior Banking Award for children 12 and under; recognising our success in school banking and the GetWise financial literacy programme for young people.
  • New Zealanders voted ASB the number one Home Loan Supplier in the 2016 Reader's Digest Quality Service Awards.
  • Awarded five stars in the Canstar Home Loan ratings survey for our Fixed Home Loan (Residential & Investment) and the Orbit Home Loan products.
  • Awarded Canstar Innovation Excellence Award for Card Control.
  • ASB became the first bank in New Zealand to launch a Chinese social network profile on Sina Weibo (Weibo), and become a verified user.
  • ASB named The New Zealand Bank of the Year by The Banker Magazine, UK for the fourth year running (and 12 times in 15 years).
  • ASB awarded MBIE Diversity Leadership Award by Deloitte Top 200 for being the most advanced in its Diversity and Inclusivity programme.
  • Clever Kash awarded the Gold Lion at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
  • ASB's innovation Clever Kash - a digital moneybox linked to customer accounts - won the Grand Axis and Grand Prix-Digital & Interactive at the 2016 Axis Awards. Clever Kash also won eight Gold and Silver awards including User experience, Product design-tech and Executive Awards: Innovation.
  • ASB KiwiSaver was awarded Canstar five stars for Outstanding Value in Balanced, Growth and Cash Fund categories. The Balanced and Growth funds have received this accolade for the sixth year running.
  • ASB's Voice of the Customer programme won the platinum award for 'Using customer feedback to build a better banking experience' at the Research Association Effectiveness Awards.
  • ASB Unity was recognised as an initiative that drove diversity and inclusion within ASB, winning the Positive Inclusion Award at the NZ Diversity Awards.
  • ASB Third Party Banking team won Lender of the Year at the Professional Advisers Association Excellence Awards.

2015

  • ASB Economics Team named Forecaster Accuracy Award Winners by Consensus Economics for second year running.
  • ASB named The New Zealand Bank of the Year by The Banker Magazine.
  • New contactless payment solution PayTag won Canstar Innovation Excellence Award.
  • ASB launched Card Control, a New Zealand-first feature giving customers the power to remotely control how their cards are used from inside ASB's Mobile app. Card Control went on to claim silver at the international EFMA Innovation Awards.
  • ASB became the first bank in the world to reach customers through social media platform Snapchat. The Snapchat campaign ASB Snap Scholarships was awarded the Grand Prix and three Golds at the New Zealand Direct Marketing Awards for excellence in strategy, best in social media and best in Industry (Finance). The campaign also won Gold at the NZ Effie Awards for most Effective Client of the Year.
  • Won the Randstad Award for New Zealand's Most Attractive Employer in the Banking & Financial Sector.
  • ASB KiwiSaver was awarded Canstar five stars for Outstanding Value in Balanced and Growth categories for fifth year running.
  • ASB Ranked No.1 in NZ for banks using social media; No. 2 for Australasian banks behind CBA; and No. 34 globally on Financial Brand's Power 100 Index.  

2014

  • First New Zealand bank to be awarded the Rainbow Tick.
  • ASB's Graduate programme won the New Zealand Association of Graduate Employers Industry Award for Best Graduate Development Programme.
  • Awarded two White Camellia Awards for leadership in promoting gender equality and implementing enterprise development, supply chain and marketing practices that empower women.
  • ASB named The New Zealand Bank of the Year by The Banker Magazine, UK.
  • Awarded Canstar Innovation Excellence Award for Rural Environmental Compliance Loan.
  • ASB pushed the boundaries of innovation on social media through the Like Rewards and Like Loan campaigns, with Like Loan winning Gold for the Digital and Interactive - Social category and Silver for the Direct Marketing category at the AXIA awards.
  • ASB's 1000km Tennis court activation for the 2014 ASB Classic won Silver for the Direct Marketing - Direct Other category at the AXIA awards.
  • ASB Economics Team named 2013 Forecaster Accuracy Award Winners by Consensus Economics.

2013

  • ASB's innovative and now globally recognised social campaign, Like Loan won Gold for the Social Strategy category at the International WARC awards and Gold for the Financial Services category at the New Zealand Marketing Association awards.
  • ASB named The New Zealand Bank of the Year by The Banker Magazine, UK.
  • ASB awarded UN Women's Empowerment Principles White Camellia Supreme Award, 2013.
  • Opened new head office, ASB North Wharf, with an Innovation Lab branch focussed on nurturing innovative ways to respond to customers' needs. ASB North Wharf:
    • Won the Sustainable Architecture Award at the 2013 Auckland Architecture Awards.
    • Awarded a five-star Green Star Rating (Office Design) by the New Zealand Green Building Council.
  • Received Canstar Best Online Bank Award for second year running.
  • Won the inaugural Canstar Youth Banking Award recognising ASB's success in school banking and GetWise financial literacy programme for young people.
  • Launched New Zealand's first Rural Environmental Compliance Loan.
  • Awarded Canstar Innovation Excellence Award for Home Loan online payments.
  • ASB's Third Party Banking team won the Lender of the Year Award at the annual Professional Advisors Association Conference.
  • ASB received the Optimal Usability Highest Overall Score for mobile banking services in New Zealand.

2012

  • ASB awarded the Responsible Governance Award at the Deloitte/Management Magazine Top 200 Awards.
  • In the national KiwiHost service survey, ASB had highest 'happiness rating' among its customers than the other four major banks in New Zealand.
  • ASB cemented itself as the leader in mobile banking technology in New Zealand through:
    • Winning the inaugural Canstar Award for Online Banking which recognised the ASB Mobile Banking app, the Virtual Branch on Facebook and wide range of money management tools on FastNet Classic.
    • Launching an updated ASB Mobile Banking tool where customers can make payments using mobile numbers, email addresses and in a New Zealand first, Facebook contact details.
  • Through a series of successful Facebook campaigns customers:
    • Engaged in Elebank to raise money for ASB Community Partners.
    • Experienced share-trading through the ASB Prize Index on Facebook.
    • Downloaded the ASB Moodulator app during the Olympics to track their feelings over the course of the games with Facebook and the online music sharing site, Spotify.
  • ASB earned a Canstar five-star rating for its FastSaver and BankDirect Savings Accounts.
  • Awarded Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority (EECA) Large Business Award for commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices.
  • Awarded two bronze Axis Awards at the Communications Agencies Association New Zealand (CAANZ) Awards.
  • ASB appointed to the Retail Syndicate Panel for the Government's programme of state-owned enterprise sales, and named as one of the panel members to progress the first transaction in the partial sale of Mighty River Power.

2011

  • Named The New Zealand Bank of the Year by The Banker Magazine, UK.
  • ASB Virtual Branch on Facebook won Best Social Media Engagement in the Asian Banker's International Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards 2011.
  • Save the Change won a Financial Innovation Canstar Cannex Innovation Excellence Award.
  • First New Zealand Bank to launch an Android application for smartphones.
  • First bank in New Zealand to establish a presence on Google+.
  • Named as the Sunday Star-Times Socially Responsible Bank of the Year.
  • ASB Virtual Branch on Facebook awarded the BAI/Finacle Infosys Service Innovation Award in the 2011 Global Banking Innovation Awards.
  • Ranked 35th of 400 global banks and financial institutions for Twitter popularity and impact (thefinancialbrand.com).
  • Winner of the 2010/11 Randstad Job Security Award.

2010

  • Launched Virtual Branch on Facebook - recognised as Best Use of Social Media by Social Media New Zealand.
  • First major New Zealand Bank to launch a Home Equity Release product, HomePlus, so our customers 65 and over can access the equity in their home for lending purposes.
  • Launched Save the Change, an initiative allowing customers to round up electronic transactions and save the difference into a nominated ASB account.
  • Number One in Colmar Brunton's Distinctive Customer Experiences Survey 2010 across major New Zealand companies.
  • Voted New Zealand Company Facebook Page of the Year in the People's Choice NZ New Media Honour List 2010.
  • Winner of Robin Hood Foundation Prime Minister's Social Heroes Award for Skills Exchange in recognition of our St John 'Working Together' CPR initiative.
