What is ASB Investment Funds?

ASB Investment Funds is a managed investment scheme. This means investors' money is pooled and collectively invested in a range of assets. There are six different funds available through ASB Investment Funds and each fund invests in a different mix of income and growth assets and are suited for different investment timeframes.

The returns you receive depend on the investment decisions made and the performance of the investments held by your chosen fund. The value of the investments may go up or down. This is called volatility. To read more about volatility, check out this blog.

To invest, you'll need a minimum initial deposit of $2000. You can access your funds whenever you like, although ASB Investment Funds is suitable for longer term investing of 3 years or more. If you’re likely to need to withdraw your investment before this time, check out our Savings accounts and Term investment pages to help you decide which option is right for your goals.

You will be charged fees for investing in ASB Investment Funds. Fees are deducted from your investment and will reduce your returns. If we invest in other funds, those funds may also charge fees. The fees you pay may be charged in two ways:

  • regular charges (for example, annual fund charges). Small differences in these fees can have a big impact on your investment over the long term;
  • one-off fees (currently none).

What are annual fund charges?

The annual fund charges in the table above are an estimated percentage of the net asset value of the fund.

The annual fund charges are:

  • our management fee and
  • the supervisor's fee and
  • costs and expenses (other than trading costs) of:
    • the funds and
    • other funds managed by us (ASB Wholesale Funds) that the funds directly invest in and
    • other funds that the ASB Wholesale Funds directly invest in.

The annual fund charges are charged each day to the fund or underlying fund.

GST is currently payable on the supervisor’s fee, costs and expenses and on 10% of the management fee. GST will be added to the fees, together with any other taxes that may be payable in the future.

More information about fees can be found in the ASB Investment Funds Product Disclosure Statement and the Other Material Information document.
