ASB has been named Canstar’s Top Merchant Service Provider for Small Business, as voted by almost 200 small business owners surveyed across the last few months.
ASB executive general manager Business Banking Tim Deane says the win is an excellent result for small business customers and the ASB team.
“At a time when merchant services have become even more popular this result reinforces the work we’re doing to support our small business customers,” says Deane.
“We know cashflow is key to the success of a business. Collecting payments on time and in a cost-efficient way is crucial, and this is where our services really have an impact.
“Customers need payment systems they can rely on and we pride ourselves on always listening for feedback on the areas we can do better.”
ASB general manager Global Transaction Banking Greg Beehre says: “This award is customer-voted which really validates the work we’ve done, particularly over the Covid-19 period when our customers needed us most. I’m really proud of the team for this excellent result.”
Canstar surveyed almost 200 small business owners who have merchant service facilities from a bank, asking them a range of questions across a range of categories to measure and track their satisfaction.
Each bank was rated across six categories: Customer Service, Device Functionality, Fees/Charges, Online Reporting, Reliability, and Speed of Service/Transaction.
ASB achieved a 5 Star rating overall.
Canstar’s research also showed that the everyday functionality of merchant technology is less important than customer service and pricing. More than one third of businesses surveyed (35%) rated customer service as the most important factor, well above fess/charges (18%) and reliability (5%).
“This award is a great achievement for ASB. But, we know there’s more work to do and I’m looking forward to working with the team and our customers to ensure we continue providing excellent service and systems,” says Deane.
