Changes to our ASB Visa Platinum Rewards credit card travel insurance policy

Travel insurance changes

From 15 September 2026, your ASB Visa Platinum Rewards travel insurance will be underwritten by Zurich Australian Insurance Limited. The main updates to the policy include:

  • Cruise itineraries are no longer included as a standard (but can be added for an additional cost).
  • Some benefit limits are increasing, including for rental vehicles and lost baggage items.

Already have a trip planned or booked? Complete the activation questionnaire before 15 September 2026 to make sure you are covered, including cruise cover at no extra cost.

One of the benefits of an ASB Visa Platinum Rewards credit card is access to overseas travel insurance. This means that if your trip meets our activation criteria, it may be covered for a wide range of unexpected events.
