As official Community Partner for the tournament, Eat My Lunch will be involved in a number of activities and activations on site throughout the two weeks.
Tennis fans will be able to participate in the ‘Buy one, Give one’ model of Eat My Lunch where they can give a lunch to a Kiwi kid in need when purchasing food and beverage from any on-site venue.
Crowd favourite activation ASB Lobbo will this year be held on both Wednesdays of each week, giving fans the chance to win a bumper ASB Classic prize pack while supporting Kiwi kids in need.
There will also be a specially designed dish for the corporate hospitality menu that will see a percentage of profits going back to Eat My Lunch.
“We’re really excited to be partnering with the ASB Classic this year. We’ve given over 1 million lunches already, but there are still thousands of kiwi kids in need. The tournament is yet another way that people can help us get to our mission of ensuring no child in NZ goes to school hungry.” says Lisa King, Founder and CEO of Eat My Lunch.
ASB Classic Tournament Director Karl Budge is pleased to welcome Eat my Lunch to the ASB Classic and is thrilled to be able to support kids in the community through the tournament.
“We are really happy to be able to support communities throughout New Zealand by partnering with Eat My Lunch. To perform well at school and ensure they have active and healthy lives, kids need to be fed and well nourished. It’s really that simple and we’re happy to be a part of it” said Budge.
This year, money raised through ASB’s annual Lobbo event will help fund lunches for Kiwi kids in need, with every three balls bought providing one meal and every six providing two through the Eat My Lunch programme.
“We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Eat my Lunch at the ASB Classic and to help provide food for school kids who might otherwise go without. We know how much tennis fans enjoy our annual Lobbo event and we’re excited to be giving the proceeds to an organisation that is making such a difference across the country,” says ASB head of community and sponsorship Mark Graham.
“Giving back to the community is a huge part of who we are at ASB and we’re looking forward to seeing how much money we can raise for this cause.”
The ASB Classic will span for two weeks; the women's tournament kicking off on December 31 to January 6 followed by the men’s tournament from January 7 to 12.
