This is Bullet, an adorable Basset Hound who also collects donations for the SPCA – no coins required!

In a digital world, having coins for charity street appeals is a challenge that many collectors face. So we’ve been working with our charity partners on innovative solutions to tackle this modern day problem and enable donations to be made using contactless technology.

We’ve worked with SPCA to fit dogs like Bullet with an ASB Accept mPos terminal into his dog jacket, allowing donations to be made with debit or credit cards using contactless technology.  People can just hold their card over the terminal to make a quick donation using Visa payWave. This innovation has been first run as a trial during the November 2016 SPCA appeal.

Our cashless society might mean the days of bucket shaking could be coming to an end, so we’re helping charities to take their street appeals into the modern age.
