If I’ve cancelled or locked my card using Card Control, can I still use ASB Virtual to make a payment?

Last Updated: 09 May 2019

Important Information: ASB Virtual is being decommissioned and replaced with Google Pay. The final closure and removal of ASB Virtual is the 16th July 2019.

If you have ASB Virtual loaded on your device and you also load Google Pay, ASB Virtual will automatically be removed and replaced with Google Pay the next time you log into the ASB Mobile Banking app.

Please visit the ASB Google Pay web page or the Google Pay web page to find out more information on Google Pay.

Yes. Your physical cards and ASB Virtual cards can be controlled separately, so if you make changes to one it does not affect the other.

If you have cancelled your physical card there will be a period of up to 24 hours where your ASB Virtual may decline. After that period you will be able to transact up to NZ$80.00, until you create a PIN for your new physical card.
