Online Vault

Online Vault

The Online Vault provides you with a convenient, central place to store your information. This information is visible only by logging into FastNet Classic.

How it works

FastNet Classic encrypts information you enter into the Online Vault using an industry standard encryption algorithm and a private key, unique to each user, before storing the information at ASB. Your data and the private key are stored securely at ASB. When you enter the Online Vault to view information, FastNet Classic retrieves your encrypted data and decrypts it using the private key for your account and displays the information in the browser.

ASB does not view or use any of the information stored in your Online Vault. To protect the privacy of your information, the ASB IT staff members who are responsible for the secure storage of the keys used to encrypt and decrypt data are separate from the team responsible for storing Online Vault data. In security, this is known as a “separation of duties”.

Does ASB use or access my information?

No. ASB does not access information stored in your Online Vault and does not use your Online Vault Information. FastNet Classic is the only bank system that is equipped with the ability to decrypt your information.

Will ASB ever disclose my Online Vault information to a third party?

ASB will not disclose your Online Vault information to a third party, unless required to do so by law (for example, if we receive a court order requiring us to disclose the information to a third party).

What happens if I lose my password?

If you lose your FastNet access code or password, call us on 0800 FASTNET or + 64 9 3063185 to arrange for your password to be reset. Once your password is reset, you will be able to regain access to FastNet Classic and the Online Vault.

Is my Online Vault information backed up?

Yes. ASB protects your Online Vault information against loss through system failure the same way as it protects other Internet banking data. Your Online Vault information remains encrypted when backed up and can not be accessed directly using a backup copy.

Could someone else access the data in my Online Vault?

The Online Vault provides the same level of security as Internet banking. We secure your information so that it can only be accessed by logging into your FastNet Classic account. If you disclose your FastNet Classic access code and password to someone else, or these are stolen, another person could access your information.

We recommend that customers storing data in the Online Vault consider activating the Netcode at sign on option in FastNet Classic to protect your personal information in the event of a compromised password.
