Change your banking to ASB

Switching your everyday banking is easy

ASB has a very simple switching process. It’s based on the fact that people seem to like it when it’s hassle-free.

Are you moving to New Zealand?

If you are moving to New Zealand or have recently arrived in the country, you may like to contact ASB’s Migrant banking specialists to help you set up your banking.

Are you looking to move your banking to ASB from another NZ Bank?

ASB has a very simple switching process. It’s based on the fact that people seem to like it when everything is done for them. So that’s exactly what we do by dedicating a switching specialist who will personally manage you through the process with the other bank. It’s totally hassle-free, and all done in three simple steps.

1. Tell us a few details about yourself.

This can be done:

2. Bring two forms of identification to any ASB branch.

Whenever you open a new bank account, we need you to verify your identity. This is a legal requirement designed to protect you and the bank. We need to see two forms of ID – we call them “Primary” and “Secondary” ID.

Click here to find out what ID you need to bring along with you.

3. Fill in a form.

Complete a simple transfer of authorities form, giving your permission for ASB to collect information on your electronic payments from your old account, to transfer your balances over, and to close your old account on your behalf with the other bank within New Zealand.

And that’s it. We’ll take care of the rest.

So experience ASB now, it might change your life or at least change your bank.

ASB’s terms and conditions and current Disclosure Statement are available free of charge from any ASB branch.  To be eligible for an ASB account you must be a New Zealand resident.  Fees and service charges apply.
