Two payment processing options
FastPay does everything:
- Set up FastPay to automatically debit your business account and credit your employees' accounts.
- Authorisation is required from your authorised signatories to submit the direct credit schedule.
FastPay exports a direct credit schedule:
- Set up FastPay to export the direct credit schedule to an approved banking product, such as FastNet Business internet banking.
- Then use your banking product to pay your employees.
Enhanced payroll accounting
- Allocate your employee salary or wage costs across any or all of your company's cost centres.
- Print reports.
- Have your IR348 electronically submitted when it is due.
When filing your IR345 however, you continue to pay Inland Revenue as you have always done.
How to apply
- Complete and submit the online registration form.
- Print, check and sign the form(s) provided at the end of the online registration.
- Send these forms to ASB.
Next steps
- You receive an email confirming that you're able to start using FastPay.
- Login to FastPay.
- Prepare and enter your company set-up details using the set-up wizard.
- Prepare and enter your employee details.

FastPay pricing
There are no initial set up costs or upgrade fees.
The following monthly and processing fees apply on an ongoing basis.
Monthly fee (excluding GST)
| Up to 5 employees | $30 |
| 6 to 30 employees | $5 per employee |
| More than 30 employees | $5 per employee for first 30 employees, then $3.50 per employee. |
Processing fees
These depend on which processing option you chose to set up in FastPay.
For set-up option one - FastPay does everything, the processing fees are:
| Per schedule (per payroll) | $4.00 |
| Plus, per transaction (per payee) | $0.13 |
For set-up option two - FastPay exports a direct credit schedule:
- You export the schedule to an electronic banking product, which then makes the payments.
- There are no FastPay processing fees; however you will have to pay the fees charged for your electronic banking product.
For example, if you export your direct credit schedule to FastNet Business internet banking then the relevant FastNet Business fees will determine your processing fees.

What you need to use FastPay
- An ASB account.
- An internet connection.
- Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher.
- Minimum PC specifications are:
- A 133MHz Pentium processor.
- 56k modem for internet use.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader. This can be downloaded free from http://www.adobe.com/
- A username and password:
- Each FastPay user chooses their FastPay username and a temporary password when you register for FastPay.
- Users must change their password the first time they log in.
- They then use their username and password to log in each time.
FastPay does not support Netscape browsers or Macintosh computers.
If you use a proxy server
A proxy server may prohibit connection to a secure site.
