Netcode provides a way to double-check that it's really you making certain online transactions from your accounts. It's a randomly created code, a bit like a temporary PIN.
A Netcode token is a small electronic device that automatically generates a random number every 60 seconds.
With FastNet Business and FastNet Classic, you enter the code currently showing on your token when requesting transactions that require authentication. It's our way of making sure it's really you.
FastNet Business daily limits
In addition to Netcode security, FastNet Business offers daily limits that give you control over the maximum amount of funds that can be paid-away from your accounts on any one day.
How it works
- When you request a payment or transaction that requires a Netcode, we'll send you the code and you enter it straight away.
- You can choose to have Netcodes sent to you by TXT message or to a special Netcode token that we provide; or both.
- If you don't have either of these with you, just call us on 0800 FASTNET (0800 327 863). We'll identify you over the phone before releasing the online payment.
When Netcode is needed
FastNet Business transactions which require Netcode:
- Authorising a pay-away transaction.
- Changing a user profile.
- Making changes to the payee library.
FastNet Classic transactions which require Netcode:
- Any payment to someone else's account that has not already been authenticated and which will take you over a daily total of $500.00. You can decrease your daily total to as little as $1.00.
- Each time you make an international money transfer.
Netcode is optional:
- When you login to FastNet Classic as an additional layer of security. If youre already registered for a Netcode token, you can choose to use Netcode at login by selecting this option in the "Personal Details" section of FastNet Classic.
