SNAP - New Zealand Police

ASB is supporting the New Zealand Police with SNAP, their community based operation aimed at disrupting the trade of stolen property and the impact it has on crime and public safety.

SNAP is a website which provides a secure storage database tool for recording and easily retrieving serial numbers of your personal property.

SNAP is a complementary service to the ASB Online Vault, which provides ASB customers with a convenient and central place to store additional personal information, such as IRD numbers, Passport numbers, medical details.  The ASB Online Vault is available within FastNet Classic.

SNAP will provide you with:

  • Quick and easy retrieval of your serial numbers to report to Police if your property is lost or stolen;
  • Access to your personal property data 24 hours a day, seven days a week, instantly and from anywhere in the world.

  • Safe storage of your unique personal property serial numbers and identifiers
  • Helps with the identification and return of stolen goods to their owner
  • Provides trade and second hand dealers with the ability to check automatically whether property has been lost or stolen
  • Makes it harder for people to trade in stolen property

  • Deters and helps reduce theft or burglary of personal property.
